As of October 2015, the White Plains Police Department had 191 sworn personnel, equivalent to one for every 303 residents of White Plains. The department was 88% men and 12% women, with a smaller representation of women in higher ranks. Of the 38 personnel holding positions above the two lowest ranks, only two were women.
People of color make up 56% of White Plains residents, but only 35% of the police department. The department was 65% white, 21% Hispanic, and 12% black, in addition to one Asian and two Native American personnel. The representation of people of color also decreased in higher ranks.
